Terms & Conditions

Last updated: June 2026

1. Acceptance of Terms

By registering for or attending a DNA Championship event, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree, you should not register or attend.

2. Event Registration

All registrations are processed through Smoothcomp. By completing registration you confirm that:

  • The information you have provided is accurate and complete
  • You meet the eligibility requirements for your chosen division
  • You have read and agree to these terms

3. Refund Policy

Registration fees are non-refundable once payment has been processed. In exceptional circumstances (serious injury, bereavement) we may offer a credit toward a future event at our discretion. Requests must be made in writing to [email protected] at least 7 days before the event.

If DNA Championship cancels an event, registered competitors will receive a full refund or the option to transfer their entry to a future event.

4. Health & Fitness to Compete

By registering you confirm that you are in good health and physically fit to compete. You must not compete if you have any injury, illness, or medical condition that could be aggravated by competition or pose a risk to yourself or others.

DNA Championship reserves the right to refuse entry to any competitor who appears unfit to compete safely.

5. Waiver of Liability

Brazilian jiu-jitsu is a contact sport and carries an inherent risk of injury. By registering and competing you acknowledge this risk and agree that DNA Championship, its organisers, staff, volunteers, and venue operators are not liable for any injury, loss, or damage sustained during or in connection with the event, except where such liability cannot be excluded by law.

6. Rules & Conduct

All competitors and attendees must:

  • Compete and behave in accordance with the DNA Championship ruleset published on our website
  • Follow the instructions of referees, officials, and event staff at all times
  • Treat all competitors, officials, and spectators with respect
  • Not engage in unsportsmanlike conduct, verbal abuse, or physical aggression outside of competition

DNA Championship reserves the right to disqualify, remove, or ban any individual who violates these standards without refund.

7. Weight & Division Eligibility

Competitors are responsible for entering the correct weight category and belt division. Weigh-ins will be conducted on the day. Competitors who fail to make weight may be moved to the next weight category if space permits, or withdrawn without refund.

Misrepresentation of belt rank is grounds for immediate disqualification and a ban from future events.

8. Photography & Media

By attending a DNA Championship event you consent to being photographed and filmed. Images and footage may be used for promotional purposes on our website and social media channels. If you do not wish to appear in promotional material, please notify us in writing before the event.

9. Event Changes

DNA Championship reserves the right to alter the schedule, venue, or format of any event. We will communicate material changes to registered competitors as soon as reasonably practicable via the email address provided at registration.

10. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

11. Contact

For any questions about these terms, contact us at [email protected].
